After Nvidia’s sharp increase, AMD is reportedly preparing to raise GPU prices. – Just days after rumors of a similar price increase for Nvidia graphics cards began to circulate, AMD is next in line to boost the asking price of its Radeon GPUs. AMD has notified its board partners that the cost of GPU and RAM bundles will increase by at least 10% in August, according to ChannelGate on Weibo (h/t VideoCardz).
Will standalone graphics cards see a similar price increase? If that occurs, I won’t be shocked. AMD intends to reintroduce graphics cards with 4GB of onboard memory since the situation is so dire. AMD just unveiled the $279 RX 9050 GPU. Interestingly, it costs only $20 less than the RX 9060 XT, which has twice as much graphics RAM.
This is the awful part, though. It’s difficult to locate this GPU for less than $450 these days, even though it was first introduced for less than $300. And the lowest estimate is that. In the US, Gigabyte is selling it for $550, while XFX is charging $490.
According to the source, the impacted cards would eventually be in the same price range as Nvidia’s offerings after AMD informed its AIB partners about an impending price increase.

Although AMD’s price increase may not be as sharp as Nvidia’s, given the current state of the market and the rising cost of memory brought on by artificial intelligence, graphics card prices may gradually rise even further. Regretfully, by conservative estimations, the current situation may not improve until 2028.
