The Red Sox set a franchise record by winning 15 straight games before losing the nightcap of their doubleheader against the Orioles. – Ted Williams was leading the Boston Red Sox to an American League title and an MVP season in 1946, the last time the team won fifteen straight games.
The Red Sox replicated that run from eight decades ago on Wednesday, defeating the Baltimore Orioles 6-3 in the first game of a doubleheader.
