Protesters Yell at Trump and Musk from Alaska to New York – On Saturday, in the largest day of protests yet, opposition groups seeking to reclaim ground following the shock of Republican Trump’s first few weeks in office marched as well as rallied in dozens of American cities, expressing their anger at the way the president is leading the country.

Both in Portland, Oregon, as well as Los Angeles, protesters marched through Pershing Plaza to City Hall while chanting.

These assaults aren’t merely political, you know. They are quite personal, you know,” Robinson remarked. “They’re criminalizing our doctors, teachers, families, and lives; they’re cutting HIV prevention funding; and they’re trying to ban our books.”
Adding, “We don’t want this America, y’all,” Robinson continued. “We want the America that is rightfully ours—a place where everyone can live free from fear and with respect.”
“Hands off our democracy” and “Hands off our Social Security” were among the placards carried by Boston protesters.

The president is scheduled to play golf in Florida on Sunday, according to the White House. He went out on Saturday.
Protests opposing Trump and Musk have taken place on a national scale on many occasions since Trump’s return to power. In contrast to the Black Lives Matter rallies that broke out in numerous cities following the 2020 murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis or the 2017 Women’s March, which drew several thousand women to Washington following Trump’s first inauguration, the opposition action had not yet organized a mass mobilization prior to Saturday.

Britt Castillo, 35, Charlotte, said, “What’s going on today, what’s happening today is abhorrent,” regardless of one’s political party or voting preferences. Regardless of how flawed our present system is, the approach taken by the present administration to address the issue is repulsive and does not align with best practices. The people aren’t being heard.
